STING swimmers and families,

The YMCA Championship meet is THIS Sunday, March 1!! You should have received an email Thursday evening from Erin Hight with LOTS of information. Below is additional information as it is specific to our team. 

The meet is at the McAuley Aquatic Center at GA Tech (750 Ferst Dr. Atlanta). Parking is available next to the aquatic center or across the street. There is no pre-paid parking pass available this year. You will pay to park when you arrive. I don't know the cost - I want to say it was ~$15 last year. ***I cannot stress enough arriving with plenty of time to park and walk into the building.***

Only swimmers and volunteers are allowed on the pool deck. When you arrive at the aquatics center your swimmer will enter the pool deck via the stairs at the far end of the spectator area by the scoreboard. Our team will be seated on the spectator side of the pool deck right next to the stairs. There will be signs by the bleachers for each team on the deck. Please make sure your swimmer wears his/her STING t-shirt. This will help volunteers make sure they get to the right spot. When your swimmer is done he/she can meet you back at the stairs. Please make sure a parent volunteer with the team knows your swimmer is leaving. 

If you have never been to the GA Tech Aquatics Center there are 3 pools: a pool by the scoreboard, a pool in the middle, and the diving well. The swimmers will race in the middle pool. As a spectator you will want to sit in front of the middle pool for the best view of your swimmer. 

Session 1: This is for swimmers in age groups 10 and younger

• The aquatic center will open at 9:00am.
• Swimmers should be on the pool deck no later than 9:30.
• The team will warm up at 9:45-10:10am.
• The meet starts at 10:30am.

Session 2: This is for swimmers in age groups 11 and older

• Swimmers should be on the pool deck no later than 2:15pm.
• The team will warm up at 2:30-2:55pm.
• The meet starts at 3:00pm.

The heat sheets are attached to this email. Please print your own copy to follow the meet. You can also follow the meet with the Meet Mobile app. There is a $6.49/month fee to see the results (you can cancel the subscription after the meet). Please use the heat sheets to mark your swimmer before you arrive at the meet. It is also important to write your swimmer's name on his/her back.

Sunday will be a super exciting and fun day for all the swimmers. They have worked so hard all season! No matter the outcome of the races, the swimmers can be proud of their dedication, team spirit, and good sportsmanship. STING may not be the biggest team in the league, but we know we have the BEST swimmers and BEST coaches!
