STING - important dates and deadlines

STING swimmers and families,

We are in the last two weeks of the regular season and there is a lot going on. Please see below for important dates and deadlines.

  • Normal practice schedule this week even though Fulton Schools are closed Monday and Tuesday and other districts have Winter Break.
  • HOME Swim meet Saturday, February 21, at 4:00pm
    • Volunteers are still needed for the meet. Registration will close in Swimtopia on Thursday, February 19, at 8:00pm.
    • Swimmers should arrive by 2:30pm. Warm-ups are 2:45-3:15pm.
    • More details will be sent later in the week.
  • Last practice of the regular season is Friday, February 27.
  • CHAMPIONSHIP swim meet Sunday, March 1, at GA Tech
    • Swimmer registration is open in Swimtopia.Registration will close Thursday, February 19, at 6:00pm.There will be no late entries.
    • Your swimmer can choose 2 individual events for the championship (I think Swimtopia will still prompt for up to 4 events. Only choose 2!) Coach Juan Carlos and Coach Jeff will make the relay assignments.
    • There are 2 sessions of the meet:
      • Swimmers in age groups 10 and younger swim in Session 1 in the morning.
      • Swimmers in age groups 11 and older swim in Session 2 in the afternoon.
    • Parent volunteers are needed for both sessions. Sign up with this link:

    • Please refer to the latest email on 1/31 from Ben Wegham for all the details about the Championship meet.
    • Reminder: To participate in the Championship meet, the swimmer must have participated in 2 regular season meets and a parent must have volunteered for at least 1 regular season meet. The Feb 21 meet is the last regular season meet when a swimmer can participate and/or a parent can volunteer.
  • Plans are in the works for an end of season celebration and banquet. As soon as I have a date/time I will communicate that information.
  • Plans are being finalized for "swim clinics" to continue after the regular season. As soon as more details are available with schedule, fees, etc. I will communicate those to the team so you can sign up your swimmer. I expect there to be a couple weeks break after the Championship meet before this will start.
