STING - February update
February 11th
STING swimmers and families,
The YMCA Championship meet is Saturday, March 1, at the GA Tech Aquatics center.
- This meet includes all the metro Atlanta YMCA teams. To be eligible, a swimmer must have participated in at least 2 regular season meets.
- The meet is split into 2 sessions based on age group:
- Session 1 at 10:30am for swimmers in age groups 10 and younger.
- Session 2 at 2:00pm for swimmers in age groups 11 and older.
- Please note your swimmer's age group is determined by his/her age as of September 1, 2024.
- Register for the meet via Swimtopia. ***The deadline to register is Sunday, February 23.*** There will be no late entries. Swimmers can choose 2 individual events they would like to swim.
- Parent volunteers are also needed. You can register to volunteer using this link: Sign Up to Volunteer Here. Please make sure to volunteer for a shift that is for the session when your swimmer is participating.
- You will receive emails from "Erin Hight via Swimtopia" regarding the Championship meet. She is the coordinator for this meet and will be sending information to all teams.
- I HIGHLY suggest when the link is available to buy a parking pass for the Session you are attending, to do so immediately. They did sell out last year.
- More information regarding arrival time, warm up time, etc. will be communicated when it is available and the meet gets closer.
Other important STING news:
- There will be regular practice schedules on Monday, February 17, and Tuesday, February 18. These are Fulton County school holidays.
- We are starting to plan an end of year banquet for the team. Stay tuned for more details as they are available. If you have a connection with a church, public room, etc. that the team could use for free (or cheap), please let Emily Crenshaw know.
