STING team,

The first swim meet of the season is Saturday, October 5, at the Alpharetta YMCA. The swimmers have been working hard at practice and this will be the first opportunity to compete. We will be hosting swimmers and families from the Tull-Gwinnett YMCA. Swimmers will need to arrive at the YMCA for the meet at 2:30pm in order to check in and for warm-ups. The meet will start at 4:00pm and should last about 3 hours.

Swimtopia is now open for you to declare your swimmer's attendance for the meet. All swimmers MUST declare if he/she "is attending" or "is not attending". The deadline to declare is Sept 26 at midnight. This will give Coach Juan Carlos time to assign events and relay teams. If a swimmer does not declare his/her attendance, it will be assumed the swimmer is not attending and will not be assigned any events.

Here are directions how to declare your's swimmer's attendance:

• Go to the STING Swimtopia page: https://iaysting.swimtopia.com
• Sign into the website. The login button is at the top right corner of the screen. If you have not yet created your account, you will need to do so to go further.
• Click on "Meets & Events" from the toolbar. Choose "Signup Calendar" from the drop down box.
• You will see the list of all the meets for this season.
• Click the light green box "Meet Entry" next to the Oct 5 meet.
• From the drop down box choose "attending" or "not attending".
• Click "Save" and you are all set.

The meet will not run efficiently and be a success without parent volunteers. There are approximately 25-30 parent volunteer slots for the meet that need to be filled. There will be veteran swim team parents to help with each role and teach the rookie parents. No matter what your volunteer role, you will be able to watch your swimmer in the pool for his/her events (Timers and Bullpen Parents have a front row seat to the action!). All families are requested to volunteer for at least 2 meets. I have attached a document that outlines the requirements for each role.

• You will see the list of all the meets for this season.
• Click the light green box “Job Signup” next to the Oct 5 meet.
• You will then see your name and a green box “Sign Up for Jobs”. Click that box.
• It will take you to the list of all the volunteer needs. You can check the box next to the role you want to fill and hit “Save Assignments”.
