STING - swim meet dates

Save the dates! Below please find the dates for the STING swim meets this season:
- Saturday, October 5 - Home meet vs. Tull-Gwinnett YMCA
- Saturday, November 16 - Home meet vs. Sanders Family Buckhead YMCA
- Saturday, December 14 - Away meet at Forsyth County YMCA
- Saturday, January 18 - Away meet at East Lake YMCA
- Saturday, February 1 - Away meet at Summit Family Newnan YMCA
- Saturday, March 1 - YMCA Championship at GA Tech Aquatics Center
Approximately 2 weeks before a meet you will need to declare your swimmer's attendance for the meet via Swimtopia. This will allow Coach Juan Carlos plenty of time to know who will be at the meet and determine the relay and event line up.
All meets (except the Championship) begin at 4:00pm with swimmers needing to arrive at 2:30/3:00ish for warm-ups. Last season the meets lasted approximately 3 hours.
There will be parent volunteer opportunities for the Home and Away meets. This includes set up/clean up, timers, bullpen parents, etc. We need about 25-30 volunteers when we host a meet. All families are requested to volunteer at least twice during the swim season.
The YMCA Championship meet brings together teams from all the Metro Atlanta YMCAs. It is held in the former Olympic pool at GA Tech. The swimmers in age groups 10 and under swim in the morning. The swimmers in age groups 11 and older swim in the afternoon. In order to compete in the Championship, a swimmer must have competed in at least 2 meets during the regular season.
