1/27 swim meet information
January 25th
STING families,
The next swim meet of the season is this Saturday, January 27, at our Alpharetta YMCA. We will be hosting swimmers and families from the J.M.Tull - Gwinnett YMCA in Lawrenceville.
Here are the details for the meet:
- The meet starts at 4:00pm and will last approximately 3 hours.
- Swimmers need to arrive by 2:30pm. When your swimmer arrives, he/she needs to check in with the volunteer parent from our team to let her know they are there. Volunteers also need to check-in when they arrive. The check in table is located in the small room across from the Aquatics office.
- Warm-up for our team is 2:45-3:15pm in the pool.
- Swimmers should wear a racing bathing suit and bring multiple towels, goggles, swim cap, drinks, snacks, games, cards, books (entertainment while waiting for events).
- Swimmers will sit together as a team in the designated bullpen area in the gym. Parent volunteers will line the swimmers up for each race. It is important your child sits with the team so he/she will not miss being called for the race. Bullpen parents will not be tracking down swimmers who are not sitting with the team.
- Parents may sit in the gym or in the viewing area at the windows.
- Parents may enter the pool deck to watch their swimmer race. Please enter/exit through the door by the Family Locker Room and sauna.
oPlease be respectful of the gym and viewing area(s) and clean up any trash.
- There are still volunteer opportunities for parents to assist with the meet. Please check Swimtopia and sign up if you can help on Saturday. We still need 2 more parents to assist with the bullpen. Throughout the season, each family is requested to volunteer for 2 meets.
- There will be concessions. Cash only – please bring small bills.
- Your swimmer's events are available in Swimtopia.
- Please mark your swimmer's Event/Heat/Lane and put his/her name on their back before arriving.
- Please put your swimmer's name on all his/her gear - swimsuit, team t-shirt, goggles, swim cap, towel, etc.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Coach Carlos.
Go STING!
